Job Summary
Seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our interdisciplinary behavioral health team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and psychiatric assessments
- Perform risk assessments and crisis intervention
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
- Provide medication management and follow-up care as appropriate
- Collaborate with peer specialists, case managers, and behavioral health professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Participate in community-based outreach and public health initiatives
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment plans
- Ensure compliance with all state regulations and clinical standards
Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Maryland
- Current unrestricted license to practice
- Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric care, or community health
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including history and physical examinations
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results
• Prescribe medications, including psychotropic medications, in accordance with Maryland regulations
• Perform routine wellness exams, preventive screenings, immunizations, and health promotion education
• Deliver integrated behavioral health services including screening, diagnosis, and management of depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and other psychiatric conditions
• Conduct brief interventions, crisis management, and motivational interviewing as appropriate
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers for coordinated care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all federal, state, and local regulations
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives - Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
- Minimum 25 hours per week availability
- Proficiency in MS Office and EHR systems
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work in-office and within community settings
Preferred Experience
- Community-based or public health programs
- Behavioral health services in clinical or outreach settings
- Health education or wraparound support services
