Position Summary:
The Office Assistant position assists in the efforts of the First-Generation office and the Center for Student Success and Retention. Student workers in this role will provide overall office support by greeting visitors, assisting in marketing and data entry. This position will also receive relevant training, which will be useful for judgement and making daily decisions while working with students who visit the First-Generation office.

Essential Functions:
- Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate person/office or take a detailed message
- Assist in marketing in First-Generation and Student Success efforts
- Complete data entry and other computer-based projects, as assigned
- Position will work 10 hours per week for the duration of the academic year
Required Qualifications:
Candidate must be a current Washburn University student.
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Strict attention to detail
Ability to interact with others
Knowledge of basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference given to students who identify as a First-Generation student.
(A First-Generation student is defined as neither parent or guardian has a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree.)
