Job Description

Job Title: Operation Coordinator

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Operation Coordinator to oversee and streamline our packaging manufacturing workflows. In this role, you will be responsible for all production scheduling to meet on time delivery. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, possesses exceptional logistics skills, and brings a basic understanding of structural design and packaging substrates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule Production: Create, update, and distribute daily and weekly manufacturing timelines based on material constraints and machinery availability.
  • Safety- Ensure all employees are working safely, have all required PPE, and eliminate any reported hazards.
  • Track Materials: Monitor inventory levels. All packaging raw materials are tracked to avoid shortage and production delays. Ensure material counts and organization.
  • Review Work Orders: Analyze production job sheets to ensure it meets client specifications before production. structural files, and print proofs to ensure manufacturing teams have accurate job requirements.
  • Liaise Departments: Act as the central communication link connecting the sales team, structural design engineers, purchasing, and logistics.
  • Monitor Quality: Coordinate with packaging technician and production supervisor to ensure finished packaging meets customer standards.
  • Coordinate Vendors: Interface with external toolmakers, die makers, and material suppliers to secure necessary production tooling on time.
  • Report Key Metrics: Document and analyze daily machine output, scrap material percentages, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Resolve Delays: Troubleshoot bottlenecks on the production floor immediately and adjust schedules dynamically to fulfill priority client orders.
  • Team- Work closely with Production Supervisor, CSR, Packaging Technician.

 

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing coordination, ideally within packaging, commercial printing, or related assembly environments.
  • Education: High school diploma required; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or business administration is highly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience using ERP/MRP software such as SAGE. Alongside advanced Excel skills.
  • Packaging Knowledge: Familiarity with printing methods (flexography, digital, offset) and die-cutting processes is a significant plus.
  • Soft Skills: Superior multitasking capabilities under tight deadlines and clear verbal communication to align diverse plant floor and office teams.
  • Bilingual- English and Spanish speaking highly preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Must be comfortable splitting time between a quiet office space and a loud, fast-moving manufacturing plant floor.
  • Lifting material up to 50lbs may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet business demands.
