Job Description

OPERATION MANAGER - X340 

NOTE:  Substance Abuse Program Plan position and subject to random drug/alcohol testing.

Position Overview:

  • Under minimal supervision responsible for the physical operation of the DUF6 conversion facilities including the major chemical/physical processing and cylinder handling operations inside the conversion building through the integration of efficient operations that are in compliance with organizational policies, procedures and plans, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) requirements, and governmental regulations applicable to the DUF6 project. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities to support the organization in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:

Functional:

  • Aids with the day-to-day work activities in the process facilities to include the management of operations supervisory staff and technician personnel associated with the conversion operations an production support
  • Ensures continuous and efficient plant production and operation
  • Integrates efficient operations that are in compliance with organizational policies, procedures and plans, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) requirements, and governmental regulations applicable to the DUF6 project
  • Ensures all safety and environmental guidelines are adhered to without deviation
  • Integrates operations and disposition activities
  • Assists with the coordination of facility operational needs with required corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance as required by technical safety requirement (TSR)/defense in depth (DID) surveillance requirements
  • Maintains adequate supplies and materials necessary for operations
  • Serves as a key member of the facility and/or site Emergency Response Organization (ERO) as designated
  • Participates in quarterly Environmental Management System (EMS) meetings
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 4+ years of nuclear experience
  • 3+ years of experience working with hazardous materials, environmental restoration, or chemical manufacturing operations (preferred)
