Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure product quality within controlled parameters to minimize waste
- Efficiently and safely operate and monitor all equipment to maintain product flow from discharge of the extruder to palletize
- Complete pertinent production related paperwork to include end of shift documentation.
- Responsible for product integrity.
- Understand and maintain high standards of tidiness and organization in line with good 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practice.
- Participate in process improvement activities
- Participate in team forums, huddles and escalation sessions
- Perform repetitive tasks and follow instructions as
- Adhere to all Food Safety, Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies.
- Work in a safe and responsible manner, exercising caution to avoid accidents, prevent injury to people or damage to the equipment
- Adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all tasks assigned
- Notify Supervisor of any problems with equipment and product deviations.
- Perform any of the tasks assigned throughout the workday.
- Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Prior experience preferred with food manufacturing desirable.
- Must be able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Able to perform basic troubleshooting functions.
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Able to work on feet for extended periods of time.
- Reliable mode of transportation
- Must be comfortable performing repetitive tasks and following instructions.
- Basic math knowledge.
- Proficient reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is desirable.
Summary
As a key member of our manufacturing team, the Operator I performs all required functions (based on their relevant Tier 1 list) associated with the start-up, shutdown, lockout, sanitation, formulation and operation of the packaging process equipment.
