POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing direct patient care according to accepted ophthalmology standards and license in an Integrated Family Medicine Ambulatory Care model. Conduct comprehensive eye exams to test vision and detect eye diseases or disorders. Prescribe therapeutic procedures, medications, and corrective lenses. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, optimal patient care. In addition, may serve on committees, may discharge administrative responsibilities, attend departmental meetings; may assume teaching responsibilities as assigned; may provide professional supervision including to Residents.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited school, specialized training and current New York State license is required. Must also have current BLS and infection control certifications. Must have a current DEA Registration.
