Outreach Coordinator


Reports To: Marke


Job Summary: The Outreach Coordinator organizes and manages public outreach and educational activities for MetroLink Tulsa and provides travel training and service education to the community.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  1. Cultivate multi-agency partnerships that can reduce costs through efficient and effective transportation coordination. 
  2. Serves as the liaison to community leaders in an effort to demonstrate how transportation enhances economic development.
  3. Facilitate regular meetings with public transportation providers and community stakeholders to identify unmet transportation needs.
  4. Provides direct outreach to area employers and employment agencies to gain support for employer and employee transit programs
  1. Provide transportation resources and training to direct community service providers to educate our target audience through community channels.
  2. Strives for easy information and referral to assist customers in learning about and using services
  3. Continually incorporates customer feedback as services are evaluated and adjusted
  1. Plan and coordinate special promotional events and activities related to general public transportation.
  2. Develop and manage informational and outreach programs for current transportation services and mobility options through public speaking and media presentations, including the development of outreach materials.
  3. Coordinate with Metro Link departments to create video for recruiting, training, and safety notifications.
  4. Is familiar with technological advances that increase travel options and/or convenience.
  1. Performs all job duties in compliance with safety guidelines and with an ongoing awareness of safety practices.
  2. Operate company vehicles in a safe manner and maintain a clear Motor Vehicle Record.
  1. Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
  2. Must be flexible, dependable, willing and able to work evenings and weekends and travel to meetings and events as necessary.
  3. Must attend all MetroLink events in order to document and share through all media platforms.
  4. Offer operational support when required to maintain service continuity, when necessary. 
  5. Perform other incidental duties and activities as may be assigned.
  6. Must be safety-conscious and actively avoid accidents when possible.


Requirements:

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred in communications, marketing, public relations, social services, education, or a related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of advanced education. 


Knowledge

Microsoft Office, Canva, PowerPoint, social media platforms, and Adobe software preferred.


Skills and Abilities

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, online, and in group settings. Must be able to initiate conversations, negotiate, persuade, collaborate and mediate. Experience developing public-facing materials and assisting with social media content is preferred. Must be able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and managing priorities skills. Excellent computer and interpersonal skills required. 

 

Mental Demands Requires the ability to manage numerous activities at one time. Must be able to interact positively and professionally with all MetroLink Tulsa personnel and the public. 

Auditory and Visual Requirements
 Requires ability to hear and respond to telephone and verbal communications. Visual acuity sufficient to perform essential job functions, including prolonged use of computer monitors and other visual display equipment.

 

Physical Demands - Extensive sitting, walking, and standing required. May be required to lift or push up to 50 pounds.

 

Additional Requirements
 Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required. Attendance at events, meetings, seminars, and training sessions is required. Employee must maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety and accident prevention. Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
