Position Summary
This position assists the production process by loading and unloading the paint line while maintaining the supply and storage of parts.
General Duties
- Work safely and effectively in a Lean Manufacturing environment
- Hang, remove, and package parts on and off the blue paint line
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
- Maintain efficiency and productivity of the powder coating to meet their customers’ schedules and Kinze quality standards
- Responsible for quality checks to ensure parts are in spec
- Perform regular checks of forklift to ensure good working order before operating
- Operate forklift and attachments, walkie rider, and tugger safely and efficiently
- Input and retrieve data to assigned bar code units
- Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee tight inventory control and data storage
- Perform regular echelon machine maintenance on forklift
- Identify opportunities to improve Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery
- Maintain proper 5S, housekeeping and safety standards
- Responsible for your safety and safety of others
- Assist other departments when necessary
Requirements
- Must be quality and safety-oriented
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
- Must pass company forklift, walkie rider, and tugger certification
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Must work well independently and in a team environment
- Must have high attention to detail and a sense of urgency
- Ability to read, comprehend, follow, and apply work instructions and procedures
- Willing to work in a confined space with bodysuit and respirators
- Accurate problem identification and solving skills are preferred
- Familiarity with bar code equipment preferred
Working Conditions
Manufacturing Environment:
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Wearing appropriate PPE and following safety procedures
- May require lifting, pushing, pulling of objects.
- Varying temperatures, depending upon season and machining
