Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom or other learning environment for an assigned special needs program; assist teachers with the preparation of instructional materials; tutor students in assigned subject areas.

* Associate's degree or
*Completion or a minimum of 48 units at an institution of higher education by attaching transcripts or
* Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate: proof of passing a locally approved assessment that measures the ability to assist in instruction.
* Examples include the CBEST, ParaPRO, or a District-administered NCLB/ESSA Paraprofessional proficiency exam.
* Applicants who meet the minimum requirements but require a Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate will receive an email invitation to attend a testing session with SCOE.

Salary Info
Please note: Initial salary placement is restricted to a maximum of Step 3 ($22.27/HR) for external applicants.

Some positions in this class may be required to possess bilingual skills in a designated second language.
BENEFITS: A Benefit Entitlement for health, dental and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
