Job Description

Part-Time Evening Janitorial Position

Position Summary

The part-time day evening Janitorial staff member is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment across all school facilities. This role supports the mission of the school by ensuring that students, staff, and visitors experience a well-kept, welcoming, and Christ-centered learning environment aligned with the values of the school.


Times: Monday-Friday 4pm-9pm, no weekends or holidays

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, gymnasium, and common areas
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms and restock supplies as needed
  • Empty trash throughout the building
  • Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are stored properly and used safely
  • Move classroom or office furniture as needed
  • Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and request restocking as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and school policies


Qualifications

  • Prior custodial experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment and tools, including a floor scrubber machine
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • Physically able to lift more than 25 pounds, bend, stand, and carry out routine custodial duties


Requirements

  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check
  • Must demonstrate reliability, integrity, and discretion in a school setting
  • Must support and respect the mission and values of a Christian school environment



Work Environment

This position works primarily inside a school facility with occasional outdoor responsibilities. This role is from 4pm until 9pm Monday through Friday and follows our school calendar.

Benefits

Compensation 

This is a part-time position and does not qualify for benefits. The salary range is $15-$19 an hour depending upon janitorial experience. Additional opportunities for deep cleaning during breaks, holidays, and summer months will be considered with the right candidate.
