Job Description

The Tri-Axle Dump Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of aggregate materials, asphalt, and construction and demolition (C&D) debris to and from job sites, plants, and disposal facilities. This role requires adherence to DOT regulations, company safety policies, and delivery schedules while maintaining a professional attitude and properly caring for assigned equipment. This is a part-time position, generally scheduled for 2–3 days per week, with the expectation of providing additional coverage as needed.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Operate a tri-axle dump truck safely and efficiently 
  • Transport materials including sand, rock, dirt, asphalt, and C&D debris 
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections 
  • Report mechanical or safety issues promptly 
  • Complete required delivery tickets and documentation 
  • Follow schedules, job instructions, and safety procedures 
  • Operate in varying weather and job site conditions 

Requirements 

  • Valid Class B CDL 
  • Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate 
  • Ability to pass drug screening 
  • Clean driving record 
  • Minimum 2 years of heavy truck driving experience (dump truck experience preferred) 
  • Knowledge of construction site safety and DOT regulations 
  • Strong communication and customer service skills 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to safely climb in and out of the truck multiple times per day 
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections, including bending, squatting, and reaching 
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed 
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating the vehicle 
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites 
  • Ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle with adequate visual acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision in both daylight and low-light/nighttime conditions (with or without corrective lenses)

Work schedule

  • 10 hour shift
