Job Description


The Patch Weld Associate position is responsible for fitting and welding of steel parts using a MIG welding. The position communicates with co-workers, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Read job specifications such as blueprints
  • Determine the appropriate equipment and methods based on requirements
  • Set up, adjust and operate equipment to fabricate parts to specifications
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Ensure work is done safely, consistently and meets quality standards
  • Monitor work equipment to ensure usage is within optimum temperature to avoid overheating or expansion
  • Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, positions to weld structural metal to specifications
  • Inspect weld surfaces and structure to ensure accuracy and discover flaws
  • Tacks assemblies together
  • Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes
  • Identify, tag and remove non-conforming materials
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Communicate with other departments as necessary
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Adhere to all company rules and policies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor
