The Patient Benefit Advisor is responsible for the scheduling of patients, obtaining prior authorization for those services which require prior authorization insurance verification and patient payment estimation, will ensure all orders are complete and will serve as the gatekeeper if there are any issues with an order, responsible for reviewing all incoming patient services to determine which procedures require authorization and work with the patient’s insurance carrier and/or referring physician office to obtain necessary information for the procedure to be performed. Patient contact is to follow all guidelines of HIPAA, and principles of AIDET while maintaining the highest standards of excellence in customer service, will demonstrate compliance with all State and Federal regulations and will issue a variety of forms that will be completed and successfully scanned into the EMR during the registration process.
Requirements
Experience and Education: Experience and Education:
Minimum:
- Computer/data entry experience required.
- Previous Patient Access or insurance experience required.
- High School Diploma
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree or higher
- Microsoft Windows with programs such as Word and Excel
