Position Summary:
Just 4 Kids Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our growing team. This full-time role is ideal for a candidate experienced in pediatric dentistry and capable of assisting during in-office general anesthesia procedures. We are looking for a team player who thrives in a fast-paced, child-centered environment and who brings professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail to every patient interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pediatric dentists with chairside support during exams, restorative procedures, and general anesthesia cases
- Set up, sterilize, and break down operatories in compliance with OSHA and CDC infection control protocols
- Support the anesthesia team during in-office general anesthesia appointments
- Provide behavior guidance and comfort techniques tailored to pediatric patients
- Record clinical notes and treatment in Dentrix Patient Management Software
- Capture diagnostic images, including digital x-rays and intraoral photographs
- Take impressions and assist with lab case preparation as needed
- Provide clear, concise pre- and post-operative instructions to parents or guardians
- Assist in maintaining efficient patient flow and operational readiness
- Participate in ongoing training and continuing education focused on pediatric care and sedation safety
Qualifications:
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pediatric dental office, including GA case support preferred
- Familiarity with Dentrix Patient Management Software required
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Radiology certification compliant with Virginia state regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Spanish speaking is a plus but not required
- Experience working with anesthesia providers or in surgical settings is a strong asset
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment
Schedule:
- Full-time: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Flexibility required on GA days (may begin earlier or extend later than standard hours)
