Community Health Northwest Florida is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our clinical team. This role provides comprehensive patient care in an outpatient Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting. The provider will assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric patients while promoting disease prevention, health education, and overall wellness for children and their families.
The Pediatric NP/PA may work independently or collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff to deliver high-quality care to patients in underserved communities.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide medical services within the scope of licensure and Community Health Northwest Florida board-approved medical staff privileges
Assess, diagnose, and treat acute, chronic, and long-term pediatric health conditions
Obtain medical histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations
Prescribe medications and treatment plans as appropriate
Administer vaccinations, screenings, and routine physicals
Perform and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests
Educate patients and families on preventative care, nutrition, and treatment plans
Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare providers when needed
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
Participate in peer reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical protocols
Attend staff meetings and continuing education opportunities
Provide mentorship or preceptorship to clinical students when applicable
Support daily tasks of assigned clinical support staff
Perform other duties as needed to support clinic operations
Minimum Qualifications
Current Florida Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license
Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited institution
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health setting
Experience working with pediatric patients
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Excellent patient education and communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload in a fast-paced clinical environment
Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and follow regulatory guidelines
Work Environment
This position operates within a Federally Qualified Health Center outpatient clinic setting. The role requires the use of medical and standard office equipment while providing direct patient care. Providers may work with patients who have complex medical and social needs.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic as needed
Ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff
Frequent use of hands for clinical and documentation tasks
