Job Description

Description

Performs the cultural dances of various Polynesian cultures for one or more shows in a way that reflects the Polynesian Cultural Center's standards of excellence.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Performs various types of cultural dances.
  • Attends practice sessions to upgrade the quality of performance of current songs and dances, and may assist the assigned Cultural Presentations supervisor teach new songs and dances. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the management.

Requirements

  • Familiar and able to perform the basic steps and fundamental movements of various Polynesian cultural dances.
  • Good health and a full range of body movement.
  • Able to move freely among the guests.
  • Looks Polynesian.
  • Able to communicate in English.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recognized as a skilled performer and by the culture being represented.
  • High school education.
  • Three years of experience as a Polynesian dancer.
