Position Overview
Crossroads is seeking full-time personnel to provide Casualty Case Management support services within the Military Personnel Division, Casualty Assistance Center at Fort Knox, KY. This level requires widespread knowledge of various application processes. Guidance and training are provided as needed.
Primary Duties:
· Provide comprehensive, compassionate support to the families of deceased, missing, or critically injured military personnel.
· Manage casualty reporting, track case files from inception to resolution, and prepare technical reports for the Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Operations Division (CMAOD).
· Coordinate casualty notification and casualty assistance for primary and secondary next of kin and/or beneficiaries.
· Track line of duty investigations.
· Receive, verify, and schedule military funeral honors requests for deceased Servicemembers, Retirees and Veterans.
· Serve as primary liaison between funeral directors, families, and honor guard teams to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations.
· Protect privacy, administer training, and ensure policy and procedure compliance.
· Cross train in all other areas under the contract to act as a back-up supporting staffing shortages or special projects when needed.
· Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Knowledge of applicable military regulations, policies and directives for the Army Casualty program.
· Ability to provide briefings on sensitive/emotional topics.
· Ability to act with empathy, dignity, and urgency during high-stress situations.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Army personnel, funeral directors and the public.
· Must be able to work 24 hour on-call rotation and one Saturday a month.
Education, Training, and Experience:
· High School diploma or GED is required.
· Associate’s degree preferred.
· Must have 1-2 years of experience in Military Human Resources services and Office Administration preferred.
· Consideration may be given to other combinations of relevant education, training, and experience that equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in this position.
