Job Description

JOB PURPOSE & MISSION

The Pharmacy Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects across pharmacy services, including inpatient, retail, and specialty pharmacy operations. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position does not require clinical licensure and does not perform clinical duties but requires strong project management experience and a working knowledge of healthcare operations.

 

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

1. Essential Job Functions

o Project Management & Execution

· Leads the full project lifecycle including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of pharmacy-related initiatives.

· Develops and maintains project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

· Ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

· Manages multiple projects simultaneously across various pharmacy service lines

 

 

2. Essential Job Functions

o Stakeholder Coordination

· Collaborates with pharmacy leadership, operations teams, IT, finance, and other departments to achieve project objectives.

· Serves as a liaison between pharmacy teams and organizational leadership.

· Facilitates meetings, communicates project progress, and escalates risks or issues as needed.

3. Essential Job Functions

o Operational Improvement

· Identifies opportunities to improve pharmacy workflows and operational efficiency.

· Supports implementation of new processes, systems, and operational initiatives.

· Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within pharmacy services.

 

4. Essential Job Functions

o Financial & Resource Oversight

· Assists with project budgeting, financial tracking, and cost management.

· Monitors resource allocation and supports efficient use of organizational resources.

· Contributes to development of business cases and financial justifications for initiatives.

 

 

5. Essential Job Functions

o Reporting & Documentation

· Tracks project performance, milestones, and deliverables.

· Maintains project documentation including charters, status reports, and risk logs.

· Utilizes Microsoft tools and systems effectively for project tracking and reporting.

· Performs all other duties as assigned.
