What You’ll Be Doing
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for working directly with patients and assisting physicians, physicians’ assistants, and nurse practitioners while dispensing medications, performing basic administrative duties, obtaining prior authorizations for medications, maintaining inventory of medications, some durable medical equipment, and dispensary supplies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas:
- · Responsible for inputting the prescription into Pioneer Rx
- Adjudication of insurance claims
- Fill the prescription and validate the count
- Record any necessary information for record keeping
- Dispense the prescription to the patient
- Perform a variety of secretarial, clerical and housekeeping functions such as customer service, maintain cleanliness of work area
- Maintain accurate entry of information in AthenaHealth, Pioneer Rx & Cardinal Health programs
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Possess a CPhT by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board in the state of Tennessee
- One (1) year experience working as a CPhT in a clinical or retail setting preferred
- Excellent PC skills, specifically with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced clinic setting and maintain a passion to help those in need
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required
- Work independently, requiring minimal or no oversight and guidance
