Position Summary

Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking an OB/GYN Physician to join our growing Women’s Health team.

This position focuses exclusively on ambulatory women’s healthcare in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The physician will provide preventive, gynecologic, reproductive, and outpatient obstetrical care while working closely with Women’s Health providers, primary care teams, nursing staff, and clinical leadership.

With no deliveries, surgeries, hospital rounding, nights, weekends, or holidays, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to build long-term patient relationships while maintaining a consistent schedule and strong work-life balance.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient women’s healthcare, including well-woman examinations, acute visits, reproductive care, and family-planning services
  • Deliver evidence-based outpatient obstetrical care to low- and moderate-risk patients
  • Provide contraception counseling and perform LARC insertion and removal
  • Perform colposcopies, biopsies, and other appropriate in-office gynecologic procedures
  • Diagnose and manage common gynecologic concerns
  • Provide perimenopausal and menopausal care
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic testing
  • Make appropriate referrals for specialty services, additional testing, treatment, and follow-up care
  • Collaborate with Women’s Health providers, primary care teams, nursing staff, and clinical leadership
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentation
  • Complete billing and clinical tasks in accordance with organizational requirements
  • Participate in peer review, quality-improvement initiatives, and accreditation-readiness activities
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff and medical assistants
  • Practice at multiple outpatient TFHC locations when operationally necessary
  • Comply with HIPAA, federal, state, accreditation, HRSA, and TFHC requirements

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Active or eligible Florida medical license
  • Active or eligible DEA registration
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • Outpatient OB/GYN experience preferred
  • Experience with Epic or another electronic health record system preferred
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills strongly preferred but not required
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, collaboration, and patient-education skills
  • Commitment to providing respectful and compassionate care to diverse patient populations

NHSC Student Loan Repayment

Tampa Family Health Centers operates National Health Service Corps-approved locations, and OB/GYN physicians are recognized by the NHSC as eligible maternity-care professionals.

Under current NHSC program terms, qualifying physicians assigned to an eligible TFHC location may receive:

  • Up to $75,000 in federal student loan repayment for an initial two-year, full-time service commitment
  • Up to $80,000 for eligible physicians who qualify for the one-time Spanish-language proficiency enhancement
  • Potential continuation awards for additional years of service when qualifying educational debt remains
  • Federal loan-repayment funds that are exempt from federal income and employment taxes

NHSC loan repayment is separate from TFHC salary, productivity incentives, paid time off, retirement benefits, and insurance coverage.

Awards are administered directly by HRSA and are subject to individual eligibility, qualifying educational debt, site and Maternity Care Target Area eligibility, available funding, and current program requirements.
