Job Description

Duties:

  • Provide classroom and hands-on instruction in all areas of pipefitting, including layout, assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems.
  • Teach proper use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment associated with the pipefitting trade. 
  • Instruct students in reading blueprint, isometric and drawings, interpreting specifications, and following industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, OSHA, NCCER). 
  • Emphasize safety practices and ensure compliance with all safety regulations in the classroom and lab settings. 
  • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and lab exercises aligned with curriculum standards and industry best practices. 
  • Evaluate student progress through written exams, practical tests, and hands-on demonstrations. 
  • Maintain accurate attendance and grading records. 
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to students pursuing trade certifications or employment. 
  • Inspect, maintain, and request repair or replacement of training equipment and materials as needed. 
  • Collaborate with department leadership, advisory committees, and industry partners to ensure curriculum relevancy. 
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and program improvement activities

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required, associate degree or technical certificate in a related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a journeyman pipefitter in commercial, industrial, or construction settings. 
  • Previous teaching or training experience preferred (college, apprenticeship program, or on-the-job instruction

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Journeyman License preferred -Texas. 
  • NCCER Instructor Certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire. 
  • OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Safety Certification preferred. 
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification desirable. We can provide
