Planning Manager
Overview
We are seeking a Planning Manager with a strong background in planning, corporate strategy, and organizational analysis. The ideal candidate will bring experience in management consulting, corporate planning, organization design, revenue analysis, and/or headcount analysis. This role is highly visible, requiring interaction with VP-level stakeholders and the ability to deliver clear, structured, and executive-ready communication.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support complex fiscal year (FY) planning workstreams, including:
Stakeholder management and executive engagement
Scheduling, coordination, and workback planning
Progress tracking and reporting to senior leadership
Partner with cross-functional teams to review revenue and headcount data, interpret insights, and translate findings into executive-ready presentations and summaries.
Drive improvements in planning processes, coordination, and scheduling, while independently owning at least one project end-to-end.
Ensure confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information, navigating the Microsoft environment with professionalism and agility.
Manage multiple fast-moving priorities in a dynamic, ambiguous environment with limited guidance.
Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of job experience
Proven experience in program management, corporate strategy, or management consulting.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and organizational data.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to VP-level audiences.
Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous settings.
Familiarity with Microsoft’s organizational environment, stakeholder dynamics, and confidentiality requirements.
Technical Skills
Data Analysis & Reporting: Comfortable working with revenue and headcount data, reviewing reports, and identifying insights.
Visualization Tools: Proficiency in Power BI for dashboards and summaries; strong PowerPoint skills for executive-ready presentations.
Productivity Tools: Advanced Excel skills for data review and analysis.
Process Improvement: Ability to design and refine planning processes, coordination frameworks, and scheduling systems.
Pay Rate:
The annual salary rate for this position in Washington State is $100,000.00 - $120,000.00. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
