Role

The Port Operations Analyst plays a key role in supporting the efficiency, performance, and cost management of port and shoreside operations for Margaritaville at Sea. As part of the Operations team, this position leverages data and analytics to optimize port activities, enhance turnaround performance, and support a seamless guest experience. The analyst translates operational data into actionable insights, supporting decision-making related to port performance, vendor management, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Performance Monitoring: Analyze day-to-day port operations, including vessel turnaround times, embarkation and debarkation efficiency, and on-time departures, to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.

  • Turnaround & Throughput Optimization: Evaluate port throughput, passenger flow, and resource utilization to support efficient vessel turnarounds and enhance the overall guest experience.

  • Cost Management & Analysis: Review and analyze port-related expenses, including labor, terminal services, and vendor contracts, to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure budget adherence.

  •  Vendor & Partner Performance Management: Track and evaluate the performance of port vendors, terminal operators, and service providers to ensure service level expectations, contractual obligations, and operational standards are met.

  • Reporting & Dashboard Development: Develop and maintain operational reports and dashboards that track key performance indicators (KPIs), providing stakeholders with visibility into port operations performance and trends.

  • Process Improvement & Efficiency Initiatives: Identify, recommend, and support the implementation of process improvements to streamline operations, reduce delays, and enhance service delivery.

  • Scheduling & Operational Planning Support: Assist with port scheduling, berth planning, and resource coordination to ensure operational readiness and alignment with vessel itineraries.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with Marine Operations, Guest Services, Safety, and Finance teams, as well as port authorities, to align operational execution with organizational goals.

  • Risk Identification & Issue Resolution: Monitor operational risks and disruptions, provide data-driven insights to support mitigation strategies, and assist in resolving issues impacting port performance.

  • Compliance & Standards Monitoring: Support adherence to regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and company operational standards through data tracking and performance review.

  • Ad Hoc Analysis & Special Projects: Conduct ad hoc analysis and support special projects, including new port launches, operational changes, and strategic initiatives.

  • Data Integrity & Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of operational data used in reporting and decision-making processes.

  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support evolving operational needs and organizational priorities.
