Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
With direction from the Director of Production, the Post Harvest Manager is responsible for supporting and executing all 
phases of processing beginning at plant harvest. Key phases include harvest, drying, bucking, curing, trimming, 
remediation, and processing (some of these responsibilities may vary by shift). Post Harvest managers are responsible 
for leading, developing and coaching assigned Leads and respective team members to effectively and compliantly 
execute all assigned Processing tasks. 

Responsibilities that will be overseen by the Post Harvest Manager are as follows but not limited to:

    • Harvest
    • Destemming
    • Trimming
    • Curing
    • Compliance Testing of completed flower batches
    • Remediation of failed product
  • Responsible for overseeing day-to-day post-harvest activities and adjusting workflow and procedures to increase 
    yields, efficiency, and overall team performance
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility, ensuring drying, curing, bucking, trimming, and remediation areas are cleaned to 
    the highest standards daily
  • Ensure optimal temperature, humidity, air movement, and other relevant conditions are achieved in the drying and 
    curing areas. Ensures these environments are monitored, recorded, and maintained.
  • Create and implement SOPs, methods, and policies within the processing department relating to Post-Harvest 
    activities
  • Ensure proper labeling, tagging and traceability within the seed-to-sale system. Ensure strains and batches are 
    accounted for and tracked in real-time.
  • Monitor stock of post-harvest supplies and consumables and coordinate with Procurement to order supplies as 
    needed.
  • Coordinates with the cultivation team to ensure efficient and effective harvests are completed on a regular basis
  • Coordinate with Packaging Team and Extraction team to forecast time and volume of product ready for extraction 
    and packaging
  • Compile KPIs and daily/weekly productivity monitoring
  • Oversees all plant activities relating to harvest and post-harvest processing while maintaining a high level of quality 
    and focus on efficiency and productivity.
  • Anticipate product flow through the processing department based on the Harvest Schedule and plan to ensure 
    efficiency of batch progression from Harvest to Packaging
  • Collects, compiles and reports harvest output data
  • Coordinate release of completed flower batches to packaging including reporting of projections to all production 
    managers
  • Ensures the safe, accurate, compliant and timely production of high-quality products.
  • Ensures quality control measures to ensure high-quality products
  • Ensures daily compliance with company policies, SOPs and all state regulations (including testing)
  • Reviews and actively monitors the labor production schedule (by shift including assigned breaks); advising on any 
    potential adjustments to the schedule to fit the overall needs of the department based on the assigned goals 
    designated by the DOP
  • Oversees all plant activities relating to harvest and post-harvest processing while maintaining a high level of quality 
    and focus on efficiency and productivity.
  • Advises on ready to package dates and quantities to the National Director-Production and production team.
  • Performs related duties and special projects, as assigned by the National Director-Production
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

  •  Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of working in a commercial cannabis production environment required
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience preferred
  • Experience training and coaching processing and packaging teams preferred

    tasks

  • Ability to forecast product pipeline from post harvest to packaging based on familiarity to processes
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Strong understanding of current biosafety SOPs; emphasis on keeping team compliant
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality; reliable and honest
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to remain calm in periods of high stress or unusual activity
  • Proficient with computers and various software
  • Ability to track and monitor to drive reporting.

  • Skill with seed-to-sale tracking systems
