Preventative Maintenance Technician
Facilities Department
12 Month Position
POSITION SUMMARY: Perform maintenance activities and repairs on HVAC equipment, exhaust fans, water coolers, and related equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
- Requires 0 to 2 years of job-related prior experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Requires completion of Asbestos Awareness Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Change belts, filters, worn bearings and clean units.
- Repairs exhaust fans including motor replacement.
- Orders necessary parts.
- Cleans evaporation and condenser coils.
- Lubricates bearings.
- Cleans fan rooms and roofs.
- Assists in developing and updating a filter and belt log.
- Gathers information for inventory of equipment.
- Delivers print shop materials daily.
- Serves as a substitute custodian as needed.
COMPENSATION FOR EXPERIENCE IS CONSIDERED, 2026-2027 Classified Salary Schedule
