Role Overview:

RealCold is seeking a hands-on Principal Solution Architect to design, standardize, and scale how our systems work together across warehouse operations, customer integrations, and data platforms.

This role will own integration architecture, system design, and onboarding frameworks�ensuring RealCold can scale customer onboarding, reduce vendor dependency, and operate as a cohesive technology platform rather than a collection of point solutions.

This is not a purely strategic or governance role. We are looking for a builder and problem-solver who can work directly with internal teams and external partners to define and implement practical, repeatable solutions.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

Integration & System Architecture

• Define and standardize integration patterns (API, middleware, file-based, event-driven)
• Own architecture across:
  
  • WMS platforms (Blue Yonder, Extensiv)
  • Middleware / integration platforms
  • External customer and partner systems
• Establish clear design principles (e.g., middleware-first, decoupled integrations)
• Review and approve solution designs from vendors and internal teams

Customer Onboarding Architecture

• Design repeatable onboarding frameworks for new customers
• Reduce onboarding effort through:
  
  • Standard integration models
  • Reusable data mappings
  • Config-driven approaches
• Partner with Operations and IT to balance speed vs. scalability

Data & Platform Architecture

• Define how data flows across systems into RealCold�s analytics platform (e.g., Incorta)
• Establish standards for:
  
  • Data availability
  • Data consistency
  • Reporting structures

• Support the transition toward a more scalable, centralized data model

Vendor & Solution Governance

• Act as the internal architecture authority across all vendors (Argano, TechSera, etc.)
• Validate vendor proposals and ensure alignment to RealCold standards
• Prevent over-customization and ensure long-term maintainability
• Drive consistent design decisions across projects

Delivery Support & Technical Leadership

• Partner with Project Managers, BSAs, and Engineers to guide execution
• Translate business needs into clear, structured solution designs
• Provide hands-on support for complex integration and system design challenges
• Act as a bridge between business, operations, and technical teams

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 10+ years in Solution Architecture, Integration Architecture, or similar role
• Strong experience with:
  
  • System integrations (API, EDI, middleware platforms)
  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or supply chain systems
• Proven ability to design scalable, repeatable solutions
• Experience working in multi-vendor, SaaS-heavy environments
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical designs

Preferred Experience with:

• Blue Yonder, Extensiv, or similar WMS platforms
• Integration platforms (Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar)
• Data platforms / BI tools (e.g., Incorta, Snowflake)
• Background in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain technology
• Experience building architecture standards in a growing organization

Work Requirements:

• Typical workweeks standard 40 hours with some overtime.
• Hands-on and execution-focused�not purely theoretical
• Comfortable operating in a high-growth, evolving environment
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive work end-to-end
• Collaborative, able to influence without direct authority
• Travel required 25%

Physical Work Environment:

• Ability to work in a temperature below 30 degrees for extended periods of time
• Prolonged period working in a warehouse environment
• Walking for up to 4 hours a day
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Time will be spent in an office setting.
• Environment will be fast paced.
