Job Description

M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are essential to meeting customer expectations.

The Process Technician Apprentice works under the guidance of experienced Process Technicians to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to operate, troubleshoot, and optimize injection molding machines and processes. This role supports machine startups, mold, color, and material changeovers, and process adjustments while developing the expertise needed to become a fully qualified Process Technician.

Schedule: 12-hour nights, 6:45PM-7:00AM, 2-2-3 rotating schedule with every other weekend off.

Key Responsibilities

• Follows safety policies and LOTO procedures to ensure a safe work environment
• Records data, creates setup sheets, and maintains change logs
• Maintains clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S principles
• Learns and understands the processing of different grades of plastics to produce quality parts
• Assists Process Technicians with mold changes
• Assists with creating samples for new molds and materials
• Assists in performing color changes and material changeovers
• Performs first-piece inspections of finished parts following changeovers
• Operates a forklift and/or overhead crane
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of the injection molding process
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills

Education

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required

Experience

• Experience with the injection molding process preferred
• Prior manufacturing experience required

Licenses & Certifications

• Forklift Certification required (in-house training provided)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and handle 45–55 pounds
• Exceptional hand-eye coordination
• Ability to perform work in a standing or sitting position as required
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may be hot or cold
• Ability to wear required PPE at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
