Job Overview:
The Procurement Manager will manage the company’s procurement operations, develop procurement strategies, and ensure cost-effective purchases of all goods and services. The role involves negotiating with suppliers, managing orders, and ensuring that procurement processes comply with company policies and legal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet the organization's quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors.
- Negotiate terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value for the organization.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply chain or procurement issues.
2. Develop and Implement Procurement Strategies:
- Design and implement efficient procurement strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate the supply chain to identify and mitigate risks.
- Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, and service.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Procurement Operations:
- Oversee the entire procurement process, from requisition to delivery.
- Manage the procurement process and provide guidance and support to the production team.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet company needs.
- Contract Management:
- Prepare and review procurement contracts, ensuring they meet company standards and legal requirements.
- Monitor P.O. performance and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Budget and Cost Control:
- Develop and manage procurement budgets.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
- Track and report on procurement metrics to senior management.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
- Identify and manage risks related to the supply chain and procurement processes.
- Ensure suppliers meet all Dagard safety requirements.
- Supplier Performance and Quality Assurance:
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure they meet quality standards and delivery timelines.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of suppliers to maintain high-quality standards.
- Technology and Systems:
- Implement and manage the ERP (procurement) software and tools.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting through the use of this technology.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
- Communicate procurement strategies and updates to senior management and other relevant parties.
Qualifications:
- Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar role for 5+ years..
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and contract management.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with occasional travel to supplier locations.
- Regular interactions with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
