Job Description
Job Overview:
The Product Manager will work within the Operational Excellence team and is responsible for the lifecycle management and commercial success of defined product line(s). This role serves as the critical link between sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customers, ensuring products meet market needs, are competitively positioned, and are delivered profitably. The Product Manager will use the New Product Development (NPD) stage gate launch process to govern new product launches and product monitoring.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Own the product line(s) strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle (development through end-of-life).
  • Collaborate with Sales to define product target markets, customer segments, and value propositions.
  • Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and voice-of-customer (VOC) research.
  • Identify opportunities for new products, enhancements, and cost optimization.
  • Support pricing strategy, quoting guidance, and cost positioning.
  • Develop business cases for new product development and capital investments.
  • Serve as the primary interface between Sales / Commercial teams, Engineering / R&D, and Manufacturing / Operations.
  • Interface with key customers and sales teams for requirements gathering, technical/commercial alignment, and escalation support.
  • Partner with engineering on new product development (NPD), feature enhancements and upgrades, and product standardization/modularization.
  • Collaborate with operations on cost reduction initiatives, design for manufacturability (DFM), supply chain constraints, and sourcing strategies.
  • Support production ramp-ups and product launches.
  • Ensure product decisions reflect operational capabilities and constraints.
  • Align stakeholders on priorities, trade-offs, and timelines.
  • Support program execution (NPD, product changes, sustaining efforts).
 
Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in product or project management.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools.
  • Experience developing and managing relationships with customers.
