Production Coordinator

The Washington Pavilion Management, Inc. (WPMI) is seeking an organized, creative, and energetic Production Coordinator to join our Performances and Events team. This position plays a key role in supporting Spotlight Theatre Company productions and performing arts education programming through technical theatre leadership, production coordination, and collaboration across departments and community partners.

What You’ll Do

Production & Technical Coordination

  • Coordinate and oversee technical and production elements for performing arts education productions and activities
  • Manage audio, lighting, scenic, and other production-related components
  • Support rehearsals, performances, load-ins, load-outs, and show calls as needed
  • Assist with technical theatre design and implementation for local and regional partners when possible

Performing Arts Education

  • Help plan, organize, implement, and evaluate performing arts education programs and activities
  • Serve as a lead instructor, director, or designer for select programs and productions
  • Assist with recruiting, training, supervising, and supporting teachers, directors, volunteers, interns, and facilitators
  • Inspire and engage youth through positive leadership and creative instruction

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with Pavilion departments to coordinate events, performances, and rehearsals
  • Collaborate on cross-departmental projects and community partnerships
  • Serve as a liaison to local, regional, and national performing arts communities
  • Support program assessment and feedback collection to help strengthen programming and participant experiences

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Performing Arts, or a related field required
  • Two to four years of experience in a performing arts education environment preferred
  • Experience with teaching, directing, curriculum development, or youth programming preferred
  • Experience in live audio, lighting, and technical theatre required
  • Set construction or scenic building experience is a plus

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate students, staff, and volunteers
  • Knowledge of audio, lighting, theatre design, and production practices
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and general computer skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends throughout the year
  • Valid driver’s license required
