Job Description

Summary:
Monitor and coordinate activities of all workers under the authority of the shift supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Supervisory -
Utilize employees effectively and efficiently by ensuring that proper training and necessary instructions are given.

Monitor employees' daily production goals, assign tasks, and set expectations as needed.

Make observations/recommendations as necessary to supervisor

Ensure that quality standards are communicated to each employee. Provide clear instruction and tools necessary to complete job safely, efficiently and on time.

Facilitate clean-up upon completion of each job.

Facilitate preparation of finished product for final approval.

Interact positively to achieve agency objectives.

Coordinate efforts to ensure high productivity and quality; and to meet customer requirements.

Monitor productivity to identify and recommend improvements to control/reduce costs.

Ensure a safe, clean work environment for all employees.

Perform any miscellaneous duties assigned.

Lead specialized projects to achieve the desired goal and optimize the efficiency of the production effort.

Assist in providing line setup daily in accordance with staffing matrix requirements

Complete daily reports as needed to facilitate communication with company leadership

Respond to emails in an appropriate timeframe

Coordinate with maintenance to respond to areas of concern

 


Supervisory Responsibilities
Supports the supervision of employees in the Production Department. Assists the supervisor with responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, assigning, and directing work. Can effectively cover the responsibilities of the supervisor during times of absence.

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Navision; Microsoft Office 2007 Professional Word, Excel, and Outlook software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Forklift certification desired or willingness to obtain.

Other Skills and Abilities
Possess mechanical aptitude and line operations knowledge to be able to resolve minor issue. Ability to communicate maintenance on issues that employees cannot correct themselves. Flexibility regarding hours, duties, etc. Ability to speak Spanish is desired.

Other Qualifications
Knowledge of participants’ disabilities a plus.
