Job Description
SUMMARY
The Production Manager oversees the logistical planning and execution of all events at SJC Cultural Events, Inc., including venue productions, community festivals, rentals, and special events. This role ensures events are delivered efficiently and safely while maintaining high production standards. The Production Manager is responsible for staffing, coordination with artists, vendors, and internal departments, and ensuring compliance with all contractual, safety, and technical requirements for the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, Sing Out Loud Festival and Fort Mose Jazz and Blues Series.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Execute production contracts and fulfill all related terms, including crew schedules, artist hospitality, vendor coordination, and security/crowd control arrangements.
• Plan and manage all technical and logistical event needs, ensuring pre-event planning, on-site coordination, and post-event evaluation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for artists, managers, vendors, community partners, labor unions, and technical crews during event execution.
• Ensure all production elements comply with safety standards, venue policies, and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with hospitality, ticketing, marketing, and operations teams to align event execution with organizational goals.
• Coordinate staffing and oversee setup, load-in/load-out procedures, and technical rehearsals.
• Respond quickly to production issues or emergencies to ensure successful event delivery.
• Maintain a full-time presence on-site during events and peak production periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide direct supervision to part-time production crews, interns, and contractors.
• Responsible for coordinating work schedules, on-site supervision, and post-event debriefs.
• Provide feedback and training to ensure safe, effective production performance.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong knowledge of venue logistics, technical production, and site operations.
• Familiarity with event safety protocols, mechanical systems (including electrical), and crowd control planning.
• Experience with production-related software, scheduling tools, and basic office applications.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in high-pressure situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate across departments and interact with artists and vendors.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and solve complex logistical problems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Event Production, Technical Theatre, or a related field required (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience managing live events, stage production, or technical operations required.
• Supervisory experience in a live event or venue setting preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

• This position may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and may include completing and successfully passing medical evaluations or clearances.
• Other conditions may include frequent reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, pinching, grasping, gripping, and crouching or stooping.

TRAVEL
Up to 50% of travel between St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra, with additional travel required for industry conferences and meetings to foster and maintain key industry relationships. Travel may include overnight stays and attendance at national industry events, site visits, or general events as needed.
