Air System Components (ASC) - Production Planner

 

JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT

Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., is seeking a Production Planner for our Tarboro, NC manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing daily and weekly production schedules that support on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The Production Planner partners closely with Master Scheduling, Materials, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure production workflows run smoothly and cost-effectively.

What You’ll Do

  • Key Production Planning activities include using the Master Production Schedule (MPS), using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) data to assess material requirements, and operations capacity information to create daily and weekly production schedules that support meeting customer on time delivery goals, and minimize inventory investment while maximizing operations productivity.
  • Ensure on time delivery, schedule attainment, and inventory DOH meet plant performance targets.
  • Collaborate with the Master Scheduler to support capacity planning and requirements alignment.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Scheduling, Manufacturing, and Engineering to ensure timely material availability.
  • Maintain replenishment signals and production-related settings within the ERP system to support efficient material flow.
  • Provide daily production support, including expediting materials, setting priorities, and resolving supply issues.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and movement of outside processing inventory.
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communication with all departments.
  • Operate within budget guidelines and support cost‑reduction initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Two‑year degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field; or 1–3 years of materials management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and analytical ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet software, and email.
  • Advanced knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (experience with production planning/scheduling modules preferred).
  • Experience in inventory forecasting, production planning/scheduling, and capacity planning is preferred.

Work Environment

This position operates in a climate‑controlled manufacturing facility with regular interaction on the production floor. The role may require standing, walking, sitting, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds, and occasional bending or climbing. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
