Production Supervisor (1st shift)
This supervisory position, located in Delavan, Wisconsin, will oversee and manage shift production and production support employees. Production Supervisors ensure all operations are in accordance with established specifications, schedules, and budgets to achieve maximum standards of quality and customer service to drive Continental Plastic (CPC) profitability and achieve organizational KPI's and strategic objectives.
- Supervise assigned staff to produce manufactured products, organize and monitor workflow. Manage day-to-day manufacturing, planning, and scheduling.
- Accomplish production results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results when compared to customer requirements.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring and improving processes/systems, establishing control points and variables, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, maintaining quality at the machine, and ensuring operation of equipment through maintenance.
- Be the CPC expert on shift production matters (e.g. production, quality, process/system enhancement, equipment, scheduling, employee development, KPI's, etc.). Provide production information compiling and analyzing data.
- Communicate with team members and support staff across shifts, to ensure continuous production of quality parts with minimal waste.
- Maintain direct authority of assigned area including decision-making, staffing, talent management and general direction matters, with the general consult of leadership and HR. Provide training to staff for day-to-day tasks, as well as onboarding and competency.
Successful candidates will possess the following:
- Education, training, and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on professional experience and supervision (within a multi-function industrial setting).
- A basic working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook is required, as is exposure to a manufacturing ERP.
- Must possess the ability to build positive team relationships and achieve outcome-oriented objectives; working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN Enterprise) with a holistic viewpoint; ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to work independently setting priorities and deadlines while maintaining an awareness of other business dependencies, when completing duties.
- Must have a solid working knowledge of applicable safety and OSHA requirements.
