Job Description

Job Title: Production Welder (Carbon)
Location: Niles, MI
Shifts: 1st and 3rd
Pay: $20.22 (+2.75 for 3rd)

In this role, you will:
• Follow work instructions, orders, and blueprints to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Perform tacking, backup welds, fillet welds, and full penetration welds on carbon steel components.
• Ensure proper fit-up of joints and thoroughly clean surfaces before tacking or welding.
• Clean, inspect, and verify welds meet quality standards for size, penetration, and fill, correcting any defects as necessary.
• Tidy up materials and debris after completing each task to maintain a safe, clean workspace.
• Primarily weld on the exterior of tanks, with occasional interior welding tasks as required.
• Operate equipment on the enamel assembly line.
• Provide support to other crews or personnel during downtime or when workload demands.

Required qualifications:
• Successful Completion of Production Welder (Carbon) Testing.
• Familiarity with industrial welding standards and quality inspection techniques.
• Basic to intermediate blueprint reading skills for efficient work execution.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.

Physical requirements of position:
• Ability to lift, carry and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in confined spaces occasionally and to handle heavy materials as required.
• Comfort with standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
