The New River Valley Community Services' Jail Diversion Team is seeking a dedicated professional to join in treating and supporting criminal justice-involved adults. The Program Clinician would work part of a multidisciplinary team in providing services to incarcerated individuals and supports them in transitioning to the community setting. The role provides a wide range of services including short-term interventions and assessment, medication management supports, substance use treatment, and coordination of care post release. Starting Salary: $52,500 (license-eligible)/$58,800 (licensed) - Depending on Experience
Education Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other license-eligible Human Services field is required.
- State of Virginia license is required in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy.
- If not fully licensed with the Virginia Board of Counseling, you are required to register and become licensed-eligible within three months of hire (if applicable).
- At least one year of clinical experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, is preferred.
- Experience working with substance use disorders and those with SMI preferred.
