Project Controls Coordinator

Location: Columbus, MS

Now Hiring: Project Controls Coordinator

Gregory Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Project Controls Coordinator to support cost control, scheduling, and performance tracking across our heavy civil construction projects.

This role is critical in maintaining accurate project data, supporting Project Managers, and ensuring financial transparency and accountability across projects. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and enjoys working with numbers, systems, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Control & Reporting

  • Coordinate cost tracking, budget updates, commitments, actuals, and forecasts

  • Assist in preparing and distributing project cost reports and performance dashboards

  • Support variance analysis of actual costs vs. budget and forecast

  • Assist with cash flow forecasting based on schedules and production inputs

Data Coordination & Reconciliation

  • Collect and reconcile project cost data from Accounting, Procurement, and Operations

  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Estimators to resolve cost discrepancies

  • Monitor procurement activities for proper cost coding and timely delivery

Documentation & Systems Support

  • Maintain organized and auditable project controls documentation

  • Support development and improvement of project controls tools and templates

  • Assist with internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Clear communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

  • 2–4 years of experience in construction project controls, project coordination, or project administration

  • Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6

  • Basic understanding of construction cost control, scheduling, and project accounting principles
