Position Summary
The Project Controls Scheduler is responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining project and workforce schedules to support successful project execution. This role serves as a critical link between project management, field operations, and leadership by ensuring schedules accurately reflect project scope, sequencing, resource requirements, and production goals.
The ideal candidate has construction scheduling experience, is highly proficient in Primavera P6, understands Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles, and can effectively manage multiple project schedules simultaneously. This individual will play a key role in supporting project planning, forecasting labor needs, identifying schedule risks, and maintaining schedule integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
- Review commercial general contractor schedules and identify errors, conflicts, and schedule logic issues
- Build and structure project schedules using a logical and scalable Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Create, monitor, and manage critical path activities to support on-time project delivery
- Manage multiple active project schedules across various projects simultaneously
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Installation Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to align schedules with operational needs
- Update schedules to reflect project progress, delays, changes in scope, and recovery plans
- Ensure subcontractor activities are properly sequenced and aligned with master project schedules
- Support both preconstruction planning and active construction schedule management
- Track major milestones, project deliverables, constraints, and key deadlines
- Proactively communicate schedule risks, impacts, and opportunities to project stakeholders
- Assist with labor forecasting, workforce planning, and production dashboards
- Support progress reporting and project controls initiatives
- Maintain accurate scheduling documentation and project records
- Participate in schedule review meetings, planning sessions, and project status updates
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience utilizing Primavera P6 scheduling software
- Minimum 2 years of experience working for a general contractor or subcontractor within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles and critical path management
- Experience developing and managing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project schedules simultaneously
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, dependencies, and project workflows
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively coordinate with field personnel, project teams, and executive stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- Experience supporting multi-project or multi-state operations
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera Unifier, or similar platforms
- Experience with labor forecasting, production tracking, and project controls processes

Work Environment:
- Full-time position (40+ hours per week)
- Primarily office-based with ongoing coordination with Project Managers, field leaders, and operations teams
- Occasional project site visits may be required
