Objective


The Project Engineer Supervisor is to support plant engineering projects by applying resources required to develop, design, and implement solutions to improve equipment or the facility throughout the site. When needed, support directly in ensuring projects are managed properly to meet the plant’s needs.


 


Main Responsibilities



  • Responsible for the planning, developing, and implementation of engineering projects to increase the plant’s production efficiencies and HSE policies/regulations related to High Pressure Die Casting, part processing, Machining, and inspection activities by means of automation or manual processing.

  • Plans, designs, and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities

  • Identifies appropriate materials, equipment, and services by applying engineering principles and methodology

  • Ensures work cells are designed to adhere to safety and Company 5S standards

  • Through servant leadership, develops and mentors departmental personnel with goals to increase the technical capabilities and ability to service manufacturing needs and trains to support excellence in operations and maintenance of equipment.

  • Provides a framework and tools for department personnel to utilize problem solving tools to identify and address root cause of problems.

  • Engages in New Program Development with equipment acquisition to ensure equipment meets plant standards to achieve optimal maintenance and operational requirements. While monitoring industry trends, identifies, and implements best practices and new equipment technologies.

  • Drive and contribute to the site’s cross-functional achievement of Safety, Quality, Cost, Deliver, Moral, Environment objectives throughout the site.


 


Position Requirements



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field preferred

  • 5-10 years’ related experience 

  • Microsoft Office province required

  • SAP experience preferred

  • Must have strong written and verbal Communication (English required)
