Job Description

A Degree Above is expanding our Construction Division and seeking experienced Project Managers across three specialties: Mechanical, Refrigeration, and Electrical. This posting represents three separate roles under one listing. Candidates will be considered for the discipline that aligns with their background and experience. Project Managers oversee field operations, project planning, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, safety compliance, and customer communication from start to finish. Each discipline has its own technical requirements, but all PMs share responsibility for delivering high‑quality, on‑time, and on‑budget projects.

Description

Available Positions

Mechanical Project Manager

Responsible for managing HVAC/mechanical construction projects including equipment installation, ductwork, piping, and system start‑up.

Preferred experience:

  • Commercial HVAC or mechanical construction
  • Reading mechanical plans, specs, and submittals
  • Coordinating installers, pipefitters, and subcontractors
  • Mechanical estimating and change order management

Refrigeration Project Manager

Oversees commercial refrigeration construction projects including rack systems, walk‑ins, line sets, controls, and start‑ups.

Preferred experience:

  • Supermarket or commercial refrigeration installation
  • Understanding of rack systems, EMS controls, and refrigerant piping
  • Managing refrigeration crews and subcontractors
  • Startup coordination and quality assurance

Electrical Project Manager

Leads electrical construction projects including service upgrades, distribution, lighting, controls, and equipment wiring.

Preferred experience:

  • Commercial or industrial electrical construction
  • NEC knowledge and blueprint interpretation
  • Managing electricians and subcontractors
  • Material takeoffs, scheduling, and inspections

General Responsibilities (All Disciplines)

  • Plan, schedule, and manage construction projects from kickoff to closeout
  • Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, materials, and inspections
  • Maintain project budgets, timelines, and documentation
  • Ensure safety compliance and quality standards
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Resolve field issues and support foremen/superintendents
  • Prepare change orders, RFIs, and progress reports

Qualifications

  • Experience in MechanicalRefrigeration, or Electrical construction (required)
  • Strong understanding of trade‑specific codes, standards, and installation practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Proven project coordination or management experience
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites periodically
