Job Description

Description

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing commercial glazing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring successful execution across planning, budgeting, procurement, fabrication, installation, and closeout. This role collaborates with internal teams, vendors, and clients to maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The Project Manager ensures operational excellence by monitoring progress, resolving issues, and driving adherence to company values and project goals.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

  • Manage all phases of commercial glass and glazing projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through collaboration with internal and external teams. 
  • Maintain budges, schedules, projected billing, and resource planning
  • Coordinate procurement, fabrication, and installation.
  • Monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure timely completion. 
  • Oversee final billings, change orders, and post-project evaluations. 
  • Review purchase orders and shop drawings for accuracy. 
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Management (QM) processes. 
  • Attend and provide guidance during required field and shop labor meetings.

Team & Operations Contribution

  • Execute daily tasks and collaborate to ensure smooth operations. 
  • Support goal achievement by providing timely updates, sharing progress, and assisting with project deliverables. 
  • Participate in job walks, project reviews to confirm field readiness and identify potential issues.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with general contractors and stakeholders to support successful project outcomes. 
  • Track and manage project expenses and resources to ensure alignment with budget and margin goals. 
  • Review project schedule and maintain accurate projected billing for assigned projects.
  • Monitor labor and material cost using the Quality Management log and report variances. 
  • Prepare and submit billings, purchase orders, and cut lists for approval in accordance with company standards. 
  • Participate in project closeout activities and assist with final reviews to ensure all deliverables are completed. 

Safety Responsibilities

  • Champion a culture of safety across all operations. 
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures. 
  • Lead by example in promoting safe work practices and hazard awareness. 
  • Support safety training, audits, and continuous improvement effort while working with safety manager. 
  • Empower employees to speak up about safety concerns and take corrective action. 
  • Collaborate with safety teams to monitor and improve safety performance. 
  • Integrate safety into planning and project execution. 

Producer Accountabilities

Producer roles impact the company’s success via sales, estimating, project management, and other revenue and profit generating efforts. Producers are important to overall execution and profitability. 

  • Produces role-specific scope of work for a team or location.
  • Develop plans to achieve goals set by leadership.
  • Execute tasks and projects to deliver quality solutions.
  • Follows company policies and processes holding peers accountable.
  • Maintains communication, documentation and reporting metrics for role.
  • Trains new team members for role-specific, or team specific work (as SME).
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver quality work and meet timelines and financial expectations.
  • Sets and communicates goals and plans for accounts, projects, etc. internally and with clients.
  • Recommends growth ideas, efficiencies and new systems for improvement.
  • Communicates progress, needs and updates to manager or director.   

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience managing glass and glazing projects.
  • Valid Minnesota Driver's License. 
  • Strong mechanical/construction aptitude and blueprint reading skills. 
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects. 
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF editors, Microsoft Project, and industry-specific software.
