JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Project Manager II is responsible for comprehensive management of capital equipment projects within a cross-functional environment. This role supports successful project execution by managing schedules, budgets, scope, risk, and communication while maintaining strong customer and internal relationships. The Project Manager II serves as a key liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring project requirements are understood and executed effectively. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and field service teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Manager II will be expected to perform:
- Lead assigned capital equipment projects from kickoff through delivery and commissioning, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, contract, and technical requirements.
- Act as the primary customer interface during project execution, escalating to senior project leadership as appropriate.
- Plan, maintain, and monitor project schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables; proactively identify risks and drive corrective actions.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams (engineering, purchasing, quality, manufacturing, and field service) to ensure effective execution and on‑time delivery.
- Support adherence to the project stage-gate execution process and assist with tracking associated KPIs.
- Review company proposals, customer specifications, and internal documentation to ensure project alignment.
- Lead or participate in internal project review meetings; track and manage action items to completion.
- Support the development of specifications for purchased equipment and materials.
- Assist in evaluating supplier proposals for completeness and technical compliance.
- Review fabrication drawings and purchase requisitions to verify accuracy and alignment with project scope.
- Provide input to monthly project financial forecasting and status updates as required.
- Support customer review meetings, inspections, and site visits.
- Coordinate project activities from order handoff through commissioning and project close-out, escalating issues appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with Senior Project Managers to continually improve project execution processes.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering or capital equipment projects with increasing responsibility.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with both internal teams and external customers.
- Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
Preferred
- Experience with capital equipment systems such as ovens, furnaces, boilers, or oxidizers.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project financial management, including cost tracking, forecast updates, and accurate calculation and interpretation of Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) to support informed decision‑making and margin control.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field; engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or progress toward certification preferred.
