About the role
Lead and manage all aspects of asbestos, lead, mold, and other industrial hygiene projects. Responsibilities include client engagement, management of project coordinators, project managers and/or technicians, proposal development, project budgeting, and preparation of final reports and remediation specifications.
Additional duties include conducting on-site surveys, inspections, assessments, abatement oversight, and monitoring/auditing safety procedures in accordance with applicable industrial hygiene and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
Business Development
- Achieve 100% of billable revenue targets as set by the company
- Track and progress client calls, meetings, and presentations
- Attend targeted industry meetings
- Arrange and deliver client presentations
- Collaborate with Business Development team on local opportunities
- Support preparation of marketing materials, including project summaries
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients
- Identify and refer opportunities for new service lines within existing accounts or new client opportunities to appropriate FACS Business Development or Sales representatives
- Record customer service and business development activities in the CRM system
- Attend association meetings as requested by the Director
Operational
- Prepare proposals and budgets and present them to clients for approval
- Forecast revenue over a 90-day period
- Attend job walks, pre-construction meetings, and client meetings
- Review project scope and determine tasks and deliverables
- Respond to client inquiries and provide technical guidance as needed
- Review project drawings, plans, and specifications and provide feedback
- Conduct field investigations, surveys, and assessments
- Monitor project budgets, scope, timelines, client interactions, and billing rates
- Oversee and guide field personnel activity and quality
- Review staff time entries to ensure accuracy of project rates and budgets
- Verify laboratory turnaround times and review outside lab charges
- Maintain Work in Progress (WIP) reports for accuracy and completeness
- Select, rent, or procure necessary equipment for projects
- Prepare and review project reports and deliverables
- Meet targets outlined in the Incentive Compensation Plan
- Follow invoicing procedures for progress and project closeouts
- Support Accounting with collections and invoicing issues as needed
- Ensure timely and accurate entry of time and expenses, including milestone updates
- Assist in recruitment by participating in interviews and providing feedback
- Serve in the role of Client Resource Manager as needed
- Collaborate with Supervisor to establish operational goals
- Maintain organized electronic project files and documentation
- Verify equipment calibration and maintain records
People Development
- Provide leadership and management to assigned team members
- Ensure Project Coordinators follow procedures for opening new projects, including completion of intake forms, scheduling, and staffing assignments
- Ensure Project Coordinators are meeting billable and revenue targets
Technical
- Maintain required technical certifications
- Attend required internal and external training (including FACS University)
- Support staff development and mentorship
- Participate in Quality Assurance / Quality Control audits
What You Bring
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Project Manager managing large and complex projects in at least one service line
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification required
- Demonstrated client relationship ownership and account management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Health & Safety, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, practices, and regulations, including exposure assessment, hazard control, and PPE
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical data and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and sound decision-making ability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, clear, and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency with relevant computer software, including Microsoft Office
- Experience using ERP systems with Project Management and CRM functionality
- Willingness and flexibility to travel and work across project locations as needed
