Clymer Farner Barley Surveying, LLC (CFB) is a dynamic and innovative firm specializing in land surveying, geospatial services, and civil engineering support. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Survey to join our team in our Ocala office and help drive the success of our surveying operations.

Position Summary

As a Project Manager within our Survey Division, you will lead and oversee a diverse portfolio of surveying projects from proposal development through final deliverables. This role is responsible for managing client relationships, coordinating field and office staff, ensuring quality standards, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and providing technical leadership to survey teams.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong technical expertise, a commitment to mentoring others, and a passion for delivering exceptional service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing technical guidance and maintaining strong professional relationships.
  • Prepare scopes of work, fee proposals, project schedules, and resource plans for surveying projects.
  • Lead and manage multiple surveying projects simultaneously, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to survey field crews, CAD professionals, and technical staff.
  • Oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, right-of-way, as-built, and construction-related surveys.
  • Review and approve survey deliverables, calculations, plats, sketches, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate survey activities with engineering, environmental, and geospatial teams to support multidisciplinary projects.
  • Conduct deed, title, and right-of-way research and provide technical oversight of boundary determinations.
  • Develop and maintain weekly and long-range scheduling for survey crews and project workloads.
  • Monitor project performance, budgets, timelines, and staffing needs while proactively identifying and resolving project challenges.
  • Support the continued training and professional development of survey personnel.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in land surveying and project management.
  • Florida Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) license strongly preferred. Candidates actively pursuing licensure may also be considered.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and client communication.
  • Demonstrated experience with Boundary Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Topographic Surveys, As-Built Surveys, and Right-of-Way Mapping.
  • Proficiency in data reduction, field file processing, and survey computations.
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS processing software, and modern survey technologies.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills.
