PROJECT MANAGER
Job Summary
This role is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of heavy civil construction projects—from preconstruction through closeout—with ownership of schedule, budget, team performance, and client relationships.
The Project Manager drives project execution by coordinating field operations, managing financial performance, and ensuring alignment between project teams, subcontractors, and clients. Success in this role requires strong decision-making, clear communication, and the ability to proactively manage risk, schedule, and cost.

Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Leadership
Lead project execution from preconstruction through closeout
Set direction for the project team and drive accountability across all functions
Ensure alignment between field operations, subcontractors, and project goals
Scheduling & Planning
Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera (P6)
Identify critical path, constraints, and risks that impact delivery
Communicate schedule impacts, float, and recovery plans to the team
Financial Management
Develop and manage project budgets, including cost codes and reporting
Monitor cash flow, cost performance, and forecasting throughout the project
Support budget setup and integration within Viewpoint
Team & Resource Management
Oversee field staff, subcontractors, and equipment utilization
Forecast manpower needs and coordinate work activities
Mentor and develop Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers
Procurement & Coordination
Identify material requirements and manage procurement timelines
Expedite approvals, fabrication, and delivery to maintain schedule
Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure alignment
Client & Contract Management
Maintain relationships with clients, A/Es, and key stakeholders
Identify scope changes and ensure proper contract notification and documentation
Resolve issues proactively to maintain project progress and client satisfaction
Preconstruction Support
Support estimating with takeoffs and pricing as needed
Provide input on constructability, scheduling, and project approach
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience managing construction projects ($20M+)
Experience developing and managing project schedules (Primavera P6 or similar)
Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project teams
Preferred
Experience in heavy civil or water/wastewater construction
Familiarity with Viewpoint or similar project management systems
Experience working on government or federal projects
Work Environment
Combination of office and active construction jobsite work
Regular coordination with field teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
Travel to project sites as required
