About the Department
The Department is seeking applications for a tenure track instructor to teach Psychology. The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychology, college-level teaching experience, as well as a commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. The Instructor will teach 15 credits per semester as part of the base workload. In addition, the Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and supporting students, participating on college committees, and contributing in a meaningful way to the college community. This is a tenure track appointment. The person selected for this position is subject to assignment to any college facility during any hours of operation.
Position Duties
- Develop, prepare, and teach all assigned courses while ensuring that course outcomes are met. Provide students with feedback and academic support. Meet all divisional and institutional requirements, such as submission of grades and reporting attendance.
- Develop, in collaboration with Division Dean and/or Associate Dean, course syllabi, assessments, and rubrics as part of program development and institutional and student outcomes assessment.
- Maintain office and advising hours for students to assist with course selection and career development opportunities
- Provide input and support within the department and the institution.
- Promote the college programs to the community.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Required: Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in Psychology
Experience Required:
- Teaching experience in the discipline, preferably 2 or more years
- Teaching experience at the college level, preferably at a 2-year institution
- Experience in the use of instructional technologies
Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Use of learning-centered teaching methodologies.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to teach and remain current in the field.
- Experience teaching in both face-to-face and online instruction. Familiarity with Blackboard Ultra is beneficial.
- Experience developing and implementing programmatic assessment.
- Demonstrated commitment to the community college mission of providing instruction to students of diverse abilities, interests, and cultural backgrounds.
- Active participation in college community.
- Availability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends, if needed.

Other Qualifications
INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:
Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
