The minimum salary is $65,700.96 annually.
This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty hours.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to develop and execute a branding/marketing plan and act as media and public relations coordinator for assigned area to ensure appropriate communications and information sharing both internally and with the public.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job
- Six (6) years of related experience
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
- Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Creates and edits content for media communication to include: print, radio, television, internet, and intranet
- Performs media interviews and manages media inquiries
- Generates story ideas for the media and makes public appearances and speeches
- Provides communications support, and creates and conducts public relations training
- Enhances relationship with the media and the public
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Valid Driver's License; and depending on area of assignment:
- The Division of Community Corrections:
- Completion of ICS100, ICS200, ICS300, ICS400 ICS700, ICS800 and IS29 training within first six (6) months of employment as a condition for permanent appointment.
- The Division of Police:
- Must obtain Kentucky Law Enforcement Council Instructor Certification based on availability upon hire
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical and polygraph as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16
- Must be available for some after hours, holidays and call-back duty.
- Must be able to operate Urban County Government equipment and vehicles in a safe, prudent and responsible manner.
