A collaborative and results-driven leader to oversee and enhance Public Works operational support functions. The ideal candidate is passionate about process improvement, data-driven decision-making, and fostering strong coordination between administrative and field operations to deliver efficient, high-quality public service.


Job Summary
The Public Works Operations Support Group (OSG) Supervisor is responsible for leading the centralized coordination, oversight, and optimization of work order management and operational support functions across Public Works divisions. This position supervises Operations Support staff and serves as the primary liaison between administrative operations and field divisions, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in the use of the City's work order management system. The OSG Supervisor drives process standardization, data integrity, performance reporting, and cross-divisional coordination to support operational efficiency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making.


Qualifications
Required:

  • Associate's degree in business administration, Public Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 5 years progressively responsible experience in operations coordination, work order management, customer support, or a related field
  • Including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role as part of the five years, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred:
  • Experience in municipal or Public Works operations
  • Experience with work order or asset management systems (e.g., KloudGin) 
  • Experience implementing process improvements or system standardization initiatives

Essential Functions
  • Supervises daily Operations Support activities, including work order coordination and administrative functions.
  • Oversees the full work order lifecycle, including entry, tracking, prioritization, and completion.
  • Establishes and maintains standardized procedures for work order management and reporting.
  • Monitors operational performance metrics and service levels to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Analyzes work order and operational data to support leadership recommendations and decision-making.
  • Serves as liaison between administrative staff and field operations to align priorities and resources.
  • Coordinates cross-divisional workflows and resolves operational service delivery issues.
  • Ensures accuracy, integrity, and completeness of data within the work order management system.
  • Develops and implements process improvements to increase efficiency and streamline workflows.
  • Supports development and tracking of Public Works operational KPIs and performance dashboards.
  • Provides staff training, guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Supports operational systems optimization, cross-functional initiatives, and emergency response coordination.
