The Role:
At CompRehab you are encouraged to make a difference in people’s lives. As a Qualified Rehabilitation Consultant, (QRC), you'll play a pivotal role in guiding injured workers, employers, claim representatives, physicians, and other key stakeholders through the complexities of workers' compensation claims. In this dynamic role, you'll work closely with injured workers, assisting them with medical care and vocational planning as they recover from injury, while following MN Department of Labor & Industry vocational rehabilitation statutory and rule requirements. Delivering top-notch case management services is a key function in this role. Experienced QRCs are encouraged to apply, but persons who require training and certification will be hired as a QRC Intern. Your job title and responsibilities will be tailored to your experience and background.
This is a work from home position, but travel in and around the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, with some outstate travel is required. Applicants must live in Minnesota. What You Will Be Doing
- Provide cost effective case management and statutory vocational rehabilitation services to include: initial evaluation with client, health care provider contact, coordination of return to work, case planning and regular comprehensive communication with all parties.
- Follow statutory rehabilitation requirements of MN Statute 102 Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Rules 5220.0100-5220.1900, or learn to do so.
- Provide cost effective vocational services to include: transferable skills analysis, identification of alternative vocational goals, vocational testing, labor market research, monitoring of job placement progress and coordination with employment services consultants.
- Completes all reports and required state applicable forms in a timely fashion ensuring accurate billing records are maintained, and attends in-person visits with injured workers, including medical appointments, job site visits, and other appointments.
- Facilitates and collaborates with all parties involved in the claims process to remove barriers to ensure a successful return to work.
- Provide premier customer service to all customers and complies with customer service standards. Responds promptly to resolve complaints or problems.
What We'll Like About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or related discipline; Master’s Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation or a related field of study is a plus.
- If hired as an intern, must be able to earn a certification as either a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or a Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS) within the timeframe prescribed by current Department of Labor & Industry rules (Minnesota only) and continue professional development to achieve full status QRC certification.
- Experienced Qualified Rehabilitation Consultants must have at least one year experience providing direct services in disability management, medical rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, medical case management, and/or counseling; and be certified as a QRC in Minnesota.
- Knowledge in state applicable workers’ compensation law as it relates to vocational rehabilitation and case management, desirable.
- Effective and timely communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work well within a team.
- Effective clinical skills of assessment, coordination, negotiation, evaluation, and case planning.
- Solid knowledge base of medical conditions and treatment specialties as related to common disability areas.
- Ability to recognize functional limitations that are related to disability conditions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work variable work schedules and travel as required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Regular attendance is required. Work takes place in a semi paperless environment within an office setting, or other remote location using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers, which requires being stationary for extended periods of time. Has the ability to sit for extended periods while operating a motor vehicle and able to safely enter and exit a vehicle and transfer between the vehicle and workplace facilities, including walking short distances on various surfaces when navigating parking areas. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and maintain concentration and focus. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and work with close vision. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions.

The base pay posted is just one component of SFM’s total compensation package. The salary range listed represents the full compensation range for this position.
