Position Summary
The Quality Control Inspector will support construction quality assurance and documentation control across complex industrial projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring all construction activities meet established company standards, industry regulations, and client specifications. Projects may include specialized sectors such as microelectronics, pharmaceutical, and high-tech industrial construction. The Quality Control Inspector will oversee inspection activities, maintain documentation accuracy, and support field teams in executing high-quality work across piping, welding, and specialty systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain required quality documentation in accordance with company SOPs and project specifications.
- Perform inspections of piping systems, welds, and material installations to verify compliance with industry and customer standards.
- Review and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and construction plans to validate field installation accuracy.
- Assist engineering teams with field layout, measurements, and quality verification activities.
- Copy, distribute, and maintain project documentation per established procedures.
- Collect field data and compile summary reports for supervisors and project teams.
- Monitor and control materials and equipment specific to assigned scopes of work.
- Verify proper installation of duct systems, including torque values, spark testing, and installation procedures.
- Conduct inspections of:
- PVDF, PP, PE fusion welds
- Carbon steel (CS) and stainless steel (SS) welds
- Stainless steel orbital welds
- PVC and CPVC glue-bonded systems
- Utilize inspection tools including borescopes, profilometry equipment, ultrasonic thickness meters, dial calipers, and standard hand tools.
- Access and navigate customer portals to retrieve specifications, drawings, and project documentation.
- Support additional quality and construction-related assignments as directed.
Qualifications
Required
- Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or NDT Level II Technician certification.
- Strong understanding of quality standards related to plastic, metal, and hybrid piping systems used in high-tech and industrial construction.
- Working knowledge of welding processes including: GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW
- General knowledge of ASME B31.3 weld certification processes.
- Experience with BPE automatic orbital welding for high-purity gas systems.
- Familiarity with George Fischer fusion systems including: GF Model IR 63, GF Model IR225, Fuseal, Contain-It systems.
- Ability to inspect welds across multiple materials and systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Comfortable using digital platforms and customer portals for project documentation.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy.
Preferred
- Current or prior ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II certifications in: RT (Radiographic Testing), UT (Ultrasonic Testing), MT (Magnetic Particle Testing), PT (Penetrant Testing), VT (Visual Testing).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods while completing documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to climb ladders and access trenches, attics, and confined spaces.
- Sufficient visual acuity to review printed and digital documents and perform detailed inspections.
- Ability to work in noisy environments and communicate effectively.
- Ability to recognize alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.
- Ability to wear required PPE at all times.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools and inspect small components.
Compensation
$40.00 - $50.00 per hour
